Every booking you take direct is a booking you don't pay an OTA 15 to 25% for. LodgingOs gives each property its own website with a booking engine built in, reading the same rooms and rates as your front desk.
What a hotel booking engine is
A hotel booking engine is the part of a hotel's website where guests check dates, choose a room and pay. It is what turns a website visit into a reservation without a phone call or an online travel agency in the middle.
Online travel agencies charge a commission on every booking. A booking engine on your own site, with your own payment account behind it, keeps that money with the hotel and gives you the guest's details directly.
How booking works for the guest
- Pick dates and see what is actually free, at your real rates.
- Choose a room type, and a rate plan when you offer more than one, such as non-refundable or bed and breakfast.
- Add extras at checkout: early check-in, late checkout, parking, pets or anything else you sell, per stay or per night.
- See the total with tax before paying, then pay by card.
- Get a confirmation email, plus a text with the check-in link when your hotel's texting is set up.
Your rules, on every channel
Minimum and maximum stay, closed to arrival, closed to departure and stop-sell are set once and followed by your website and the booking sites alike. Weekly and monthly discounts apply on their own when a stay is long enough, and each rate plan carries its own cancellation and no-show terms.
Payments and cancellations
Online bookings are paid in full when the guest books, into your own Stripe account. LodgingOs takes no commission; you pay Stripe's card rate.
Every confirmation has a link where the guest can see the booking and cancel while it is still free to cancel under your policy, with the refund sent automatically. Inside the fee window, the link points them to the desk instead.
Part of one system
The booking engine shares availability with your front desk and the channel manager, so the same room can't be sold twice. A booking lands on the desk the moment it is paid, with the guest's details and the folio, and online bookings are checked against your Do-Not-Rent list.
Phone and AI bookings too
Mae, the AI phone agent, and the website chat take bookings from the same availability and rates, holding the room while the guest adds a card from a secure link.
Currencies
Rates and payments can be in US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or Singapore dollars, pounds, euros, UAE dirhams, Indian rupees, Indonesian rupiah, Thai baht or Sri Lankan rupees.

Questions
Is there a commission on direct bookings?
No. You pay Stripe's card processing rate; LodgingOs adds nothing.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Your website can run on your own domain.
Can guests pay a deposit instead of the full stay?
Not online: website bookings are paid in full, and cancellations and refunds follow the rate plan the guest chose. The desk can take a deposit hold on a card for bookings it makes.
Can a guest book several rooms at once?
Each online booking is one room. For groups, the desk books a block of rooms with a rooming list.
Do you support promo codes?
Not as codes. Offers can be shown on your website and applied by the desk.
